Glow with the Show Makes its Way to Walt Disney World

Unfortunately, I have not been to Disneyland but last year I stumbled across an article about the Glow With The Show at Disneyland.  After reading the article and seeing a video, I thought it would be a great addition to Walt Disney World and I even created a draft to write a post about my opinion!  Well, the higher ups at Walt Disney World must have heard my thoughts because Walt Disney World now has Glow With The Show!  The light-up ears made their debut last night at Hollywood Studio’s nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic! and will make their first appearance during Celebrate the Magic and Wishes in the Magic Kingdom beginning October 19th!  Have you ever had the pleassure of seeing Glow With The Show at Disneyland?  Check out this cool video from Disney Parks Blog!

I did see the Glow with Show Ears at DL. I saw a few in action at the Mad Tea Party, but didn’t notice very many there overall. They are far from the norm. I tried one on and they are pretty top heavy because of all the electronic components. You have to use the adjustable strap to really hold it on your head and the strap didn’t adjust small enough for toddlers and kids to use. It’s a pretty neat idea, but doesn’t seem to be catching on at DL. I think it might actually do better at WDW. I hope it does! I love the idea, but I think there need to be more of them out there to really start making a big impression.

Yeah, I could see the top heavy thing being an issue. If they aren’t comfortable to wear around all day then most guest probably won’t lug them into the park to use for the nightly shows. I think they will work best with Fantasmic! because it is easy for everyone to see the full effect. Wishes will be a little more difficult to see the whole effect depending on your location. They are also going to implement them with the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing lights and I think they will work really well there as well.
